The rule over one nominated visitor to Barty House is causing a lot of frustration. I haven’t received the letter yet, I have only had a phone call telling me that it is policy. I will be calling the manager tomorrow to at least get the reasoning behind the decision but I don’t hold great hope of getting a reversal of the policy. Viv is coming down at the weekend and understandably very upset of not getting to see Mum. I cycled with Les today and explained to him that he will not be able to visit Mum either.
Our holiday is looking very doubtful now as Spain’s cases are increasing. There is pressure on the Govt to relax on the quarentine but they are holding firm. If there is any giving way I guess they may relax on the Canary Islands eventually. No real hope of the Foreign Office changing the essential only travel to Spain for a long time, which will be too late for us. So be it if it prevents a rise in cases in UK but I am not convinced that this is the best way to deal with it.
On a lighter note, it was a lovely summer day today so I started my ride quite early, met my friends at Headcorn then off to a lovely light lunch at pub in Brenchley. 52.5 miles today, most enjoyable.
