For the first time since last year I managed a bike ride followed by a decent run. Not so hot as yesterday, but very pleasant. I cycled to join friend Mike at Brenchley then off we went to Cranbrook. Found the cafe called Food for Thought. We were made very welcome and I even managed my “no butter on anything” campaign in an effort to try to reduce my high cholesterol level. After a nice ride I got home after 37 miles then went for a 5.5 mile run. Needed a soak in the bath but felt refreshed afterwards.

Shame that our neighbours are having another teenagers party, early yet so the noise is bearable. What is worse is the number of young people there, clearly breaking all the Covid rules and guidance. I am surprised that our very nice neighbours allow it, especially as the lady is a teacher! I just hope that none of the partygoers are carrying the disease. It is not prevalent in this immediate area but it wouldn’t take much to change that.

Cup final today, Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1 a deserved win. I felt sorry for the Chelsea lad who sustained a serious injury a couple of minutes from the end. It was to be his last game for Chelsea, not a nice way to finish. Apart from a few club officials and substitutes no other spectators, what a strange world we are currently living in.

Got a lovely photo today that young James took of his Mum playing the cello. I thought it deserved a place in my blog.
