As it was going to be hot today (34 degrees) I went for an early 5k run. Very uncomfortable, very muggy so just a jog through the valley. Sue had a lunch party with 4 friends today so I was the waiter. It all went well, nice to see Diane, glad she is keeping herself busy since Ray died. We ate outside and I spent a lot of time re-arranging chairs to find shade. They all left about 4 ish after which I started putting the Shelterbox tent up in readiness for tomorrow when the Reading gang arrive. Norman kindly came to help, it is a long time since we erected the tent so a good opportunity to examine all the fittings, a few adjustments to guy lines but otherwise OK.
Danny and Toby will sleep in the tent tomorrow and Ollie is bringing his own little fisherman’s tent. Not sure if I will have to join the youngsters, but I fear it might have to happen.
Reading Mum’s care notes it looks like she had a bad day with her dizziness but I am not surprised in this heat. Tomorrow is one degree less, so the heatwave continues for a while yet. Storms forecast for next week, not sure if James and Alex will want to sleep in the tent, but maybe they will.
