Viv rang last night to say Steve is in hospital with unknown problems. I spoke to her this afternoon and she awaiting results of a CT Scan that Steve is having. As yet I haven’t heard anything back. I am sure Viv will be in touch when she knows more.

8.00pm just had message still awaiting results.

I got a call from a nurse at Barty today. They wanted my opinion on Mum having a dementia test which they are arranging as they think Mum is right on the border line. I have felt that for sometime but my visit yesterday strengthened that view as Mum couldn’t remember historical events which not long ago she could have remembered perfectly well. They also wanted a view on not using bedrails as Mum has the potential to climb over them and fall. We agreed that providing that a large pressure alarm mat is in position and cannot be bi-passed by Mum, it might be less risky to leave the rails down. It appears Mum is very determined to be independent and do what she wants to but she cannot grasp the consequences of the high risk from a fall.

We had a good Rotary Riverside International Committee meeting this morning in MaryL’s garden. There were seven of us spread out as per the guidance. From Next Monday that won’t be possible as it will be illegal for any groups of 6 or more to gather either indoors or outside. Rules are being tightened up as cases of Covid are on the rise and in some areas quite rapidly. However, after the long wait for Mum’s results, they arrived today and she tested negative. That is a relief it would have been a nightmare if she had tested positive.

Not the most exciting event of the day, but I had a haircut today!
