After I had a call from Barty to say that Mum had a minor fall in the night and bruised her toe, I checked the care notes which told me she had a damaged toe nail which she had presented whilst it was bleeding, to the nurses station at 1.00am! Not being too concerned I waited till today’s visit to ascertain the damage. Mum was waiting to see me and despite her almost regular dizzy spell, this time only lasting about 10 secs, I asked to see her toe. On inspection it had a plaster on and didn’t appear to be a problem so we moved the conversation on to more interesting things. Sue had sent her some roses in a basket which she was grateful for but explained that she does’t look after flowers now, the staff do that! It’s beginning to sound like Downton Abbey. I had bought in the original photo album from when I was born. It has been in my possession for a long time now so she was pleased to go through all the photos of this delightful baby. Mum continues to enjoy her life and she recognises that she is being looked after well.

In the morning I trimmed some bushes in the garden and did a general tidy up and loaded the car ready for my day at Brookside tomorrow to take part in our Rotary Club’s World Polio Day collection.

Wales goes into full lockdown today for a couple of weeks and South Yorkshire is upgraded to Tier3…and so it goes on.
