Apparently Mum played Scatterpack in Activities today. That’s interesting, I’ve never heard of it! My Connect 4 that I ordered online arrived today. It is rubbish, too small and fiddly, Mum will have difficulty. Trouble is I can’t pop out and buy another proper one as toyshops are closed and I go to see Mum on Monday. Never mind it will have to be plan B whatever that might be. On the subject of care visits, it was on main news tonight. The Govt are going to arrange testing so that visitors can go inside to see their Mum or relative. Many people haven’t been able to do an inside visit since March. It just shows that although the visiting arrangements at Barty are strict, at least I have been able to visit. I expect we will carry on the same. It would be nice though if they allowed another visitor such as Viv or Les. I don’t think that is a possibility for a while yet whilst the cases continue to rise.
I went for a good run today nearly 6 miles. I had a couple of stops to chat to friends Dave, Catherine and Richard but I seem to run more comfortably with a pace just under 12 min miles. So many dogs out today taking their owners for a walk. On one enclosed path I had two un-leashed little poodle like things run at me. To make a point I jumped in the hedge, started to shake and spluttered to the owner that I have a phobia about dogs. She apologised prefusely as I stumbled onwards. I think I’ll try that trick again when lose dogs bother me, it has more of an effect than shouting “put that dog on a lead!!”
Friends Dave & Ann were visiting when I got home. They had brought a pressie for Sue. She has done very well this year, she can’t wait to see her tree!
Work continues on my idea for a volunteers hub within our Rotary Club, to attract more help with projects. I have written a discussion paper and I am currently preparing a slide show for our club meeting when I’ll present the proposal. They had better accept it after all this effort.
