I have been helping at the Maidstone SC for the Disabled for a couple of years now but this week I was faced with my biggest challenge. This a young lady who has both legs amputated above the knee and has been housebound until now. She wanted to swim again. I sought advice on how to help out but this is a new area for us. However, the young lady responded welll and although it will take some time she appears to have the courage and determination to succeed. Balance in the water is hardest and we will have to aim on this aspect for a while. She enjoyed the experience in water so that is a good sign.
