We have started to dare to look at the possibility of visiting the villa in Spain in September. Still rather ambitious as we feel that some precautions and restrictions in both countries will still be in force then. However, EasyJet are showing flights and if we want to use our voucher from last year’s cancelled flight we need to bite the bullet and book. If things are improved somewhat by then there will be a big rush for holidays and all flights will fill up soon. We don’t like early or late flights so the midday flight will book up very quickly. We will look in more detail this weekend. New Covid cases are slowly falling in number but deaths are still extremely high. Boris says this lockdown will go on till mid February at the earliest. We don’t want yet another lockdown so it’s wise to keep it going as long as is reasonable. The Govt have to balance that with the increasing number of people with anxiety and mental issues caused through the crisis and also those who have just had enough!

A major crisis, today the engineer from NEFF came to examine our defective dishwasher. Conclusion is it has had it’s day and we need another one. In the meantime it’s more washing up for me! The old one has lasted 11 years so not too bad I suppose.

Dentist this afternoon. All went well no treatment needed thank goodness, I had enough problems in the first lockdown when I had to have my wisdom tooth removed.

Finally, after all I have said about Mum’s gradual decline, Barty sent me the photo of her on Burns Night. For someone who has had a hip replacement and survived Covid at 95, she really isn’t doing too badly!
