Yesterday morning Sue and I did a double shift at Blackthorn. It was from 9.00 till 1.00pm. The freeze was starting to thaw so it was a bit more comfortable than previously. A slower day as the surgery had invited people with learning difficulties and some physically disabled as well. They came with carers from homes and some travelled in mini buses and taxis. It was an honour to help them and they were so grateful for getting their jab. It made me realise just how lucky I am when you see the what some families have to go through bringing up children with such disabilities. 130 vaccines given and the total so far at Blackthorn is about 8000. Saturday had been an amazing day, we did 800.

Today the temperature is above freezing and overnight almost all the snow has gone. The boys are now on half term, so no online learning for Sue, plus we didn’t have to get up early for vaccines, we had a lie in till 8.30 ! Raining this morning so a leisurely breakfast then some more preparation work for our events. Oh I nearly forgot, yesterday was Valentines Day, so tradition dictated that we buy each other a card. I had to rush out in the week and grab a card from the Post Office, so I could smugly place mine alongside the one Sue bought me and we opened them together. I opened mine and Sue had bought me a pretty and meaningful card plus some chocolates which I had to share as I hadn’t bought her any. But then she opened my card to her. She opened it and placed it alongside mine. It was a lovely pretty card but it was only then that I noticed.. I had picked up an anniversary card and even written in it and hadn’t even noticed the cover or inside where it clearly said ‘To My Dear Wife Happy Anniversary” Whoops!
