Boris has declared that as from next Monday the next phase to remove some restrictions can take place. Much more freedom, meeting in doors, public places opened, more visitors to care homes and funerals and so on. This is good news for us lucky ones here in the UK and it means that all being well Sue and i will get our couple of nights in a hotel in Bournemouth next week.

Meanwhile in India the pandemic rages on. Over 22 million cases and quarter of a million deaths so far, but they fear the death toll is much higher. Over a hundred bodies have been found in the Ganges which are bloated and partially burnt. It is thought that they are Covid victims that were only partially cremated and dumped in the river. There are so many cremation pyres everywhere. This pandemic is nowhere over and we must all be sensible now we have more freedom. I visited our friend today whose neighbour is supposed to be intelligent. She lives in a large house with young children and refuses to believe that Covid is a problem! She keeps herself fit, goes to the gym, eats the right food and she refuses to have the vaccinations!! What a pillock!

We were marshalling at the surgery again this weekend, a bit warmer now but heavy rain on Saturday. We are up to about 17, 000 vaccines given now, just from our small surgery. People were so grateful and pleased to have had their jab.

I had a call from social services this morning, now that the financial assessment has been done and “some” help might be possible from 22nd August, the care assessment has been postponed till the end of June. Sue has done a great job putting our case together, I will be glad when we know the outcome.
