Team Amazing Grace did well in London Tr-iathlon Olympic Distance Team Relay yesterday.

Overall time 2 hrs 34min

Position 106 out of 406

Swim 1500m (Grace’s grandad Clive) 29.13 mins
Bike   39 k     (Grace’s dad Stuart) 1:11:49– he was faster than that as he put his bike shoes on after he had run over the bike start chip.
Run    9.7 k    (Grace’s uncle Steve) 47mins 29 sec

Transitions were in respectable times.

I was particularly pleased with my swim – well inside the top 100 – but mainly that having an eye for the camera I managed to get pride of place in today’s  Sunday Times  (2 Aug) page 6 picture of the mass start. A lesson for the youngsters – there comes a time when enjoying the occasion is worth losing a couple of seconds at the start especially if you are an old poser! You need to see the photo to understand what I mean. Still I went sub 30 for 1500m which I was pleased with.
