Sevenoaks Tri Swimming Team

My move this year to Sev Tri has paid dividends with two PBs and one of them a Kent record. See the report below for details:

South East Region ASA Masters Long Course Swimming Championships – 9 & 10 February, 2013. E-mail
Some PB’s, Some Medals and a few Kent Masters Records!

Clive Bradburn, Ian Glover, Dave Lawson, Andrew Linney and Anne Raymond were all in action over the weekend at the K2 pool in Crawley for the South East Region ASA Masters Long Course Swimming Championships. The meet, which was “sold out” well in advance of the entry closing day was held over 2 days.

New club member Clive Bradburn lead the medal haul with 3 golds (50m, 100m & 200m breaststroke) and 2 silvers (400m & 800m free), setting new PB’s in both freestyle events, with the 800m free bettering his own Kent Record in the Mens 65-69 age group to 14:45.12. Ian Glover also had a busy weekend winning a bronze in 200m breaststroke. Ian also swam 100m Br (5th), 50m free (12th), 50m fly (9th) and 200m IM (4th). Andrew Linney made his first appearance at this meet, using the opportunity to practice in a 50m pool and brush up on his distance swimming in the 800m free. Setting a PB in the process! Dave Lawson also swam the 800m free coming 6th in his age group (50-54). Anne Raymond also had a busy weekend swimming 6 events and claiming 5 medals: 2 golds (400m IM & 400m free), 1 silver (200m IM) and 2 bronzes (100m & 200m breaststroke). Anne also swam the 200m free (5th). This was Anne’s first attempt at the 400m IM and she managed to complete the distance in a respectable 7:10.35. She enjoyed the experience so much that she has entered to do it again at the Welsh Open Championships in March. Anne has just moved age group and all her swims, except 100m breaststroke, are new Kent Records for 50-54 Ladies. (She will now be busy completing the Record claim forms!)

All records are subject to ratification.

My breastroke times were surprisingly consistent from last year except a 2 sec drop in the 200m.

Looking forward to the build up to my first Triathlon of the year in April.
