Hampden on the east coast overnight. Good campsite by the beach. Sunday morning off to Dunedin. Visited famous rail station and cathedral and then drove the perimeter road along Otago Peninsula. Spectacular scenery and then went to headland to see the only mainland nesting albatrosses in the world. Great sight, once again a privilege to be there to see them. Lovely drive along highway 1 to Gore for overnight stop before long journey to Milford Sound. This amazing place was everything we expected and more. Light rain on drive in made the waterfalls from the mountains spectacular.Boat tour of the Sound was brilliant, overnight rain produced new waterfalls, so incredible. Decided not to stay the extra night so pushed on to Queenstown. A beautiful city on the lakeside surrounded by mountains. Had a meal at a lakeside restaurant and then enjoyed the nightlife, well, until 9.30 that is! This is a young persons town, full of excitement and youngsters.Tomorrow we move onto Lake Wanaka. Had great reports about it so may stay there for a night, to take a breather. 1200 km driven so far, really loving our little home on wheels.
