I couldn’t miss the opportunity to compete in the London Olympic Aquatics Centre so I entered the 100m and 200m breastroke. Last year in my age group so was up against some “youngsters” including Roger Guttridge, Press correspondent for Swimming Times. We queued together and swam together but he had the better of me. Very poor times for me 1:50.83 for the 100m and 4:06:93 for the 200m.   28th position in 100m and 20th in 200m although I was 2nd fastest British swimmer, Roger was the fastest.

Great to swim in this amazing venue but unfortunately the organisation was poor with problems early in the week especially due to FINA allowing far too many swimmers to enter.
