After several months of my sciatica/back problem, it has eased somewhat but my doctor has said nothing more to do just get on with it. So I am.
Reasonably successful championships as I move into new age group 70-74. Great battle with rival Chris J in the 200m Breastroke. Swum in adjacent lanes and I managed to pip him by 0.25 sec. in a time of 4.04.24. I also beat him in 50 m br 48.77. However, he beat me in 100m br by 2 secs, I did 1:52:61. Overall not bad results for my first competition with my new club Sevenoaks SC. I got a new County record in the 200m breastroke.
Overall 2 golds and a silver in breastroke. Silver in 400 freestyle 7:55:80. Bronze in 100m free 1:38:56.
Now it’s time to get running again and prepare for my triathlons. Have dropped out of Europeans in June to work on qualifying for the Worlds in Rotterdam in September. I need to finish in top 4 at Eton Dornay on my birthday on 21st May. Warm up in Maidstone Tri on May 7th.
